This scene was so absurd. How on earth did this head fly out of the fridge? And then continue to fly around the room attacking the guy? It’s so silly - I can’t even believe this scene made it into the movie, but apparently Fulci loves it.

In the original script, the skull which flies out of the freezer was not included - it was added by Lucio Fulci. He later remarked that he felt it was one of the cleverest things he had come up with and was the only thing about the movie he was truly proud of.
Just finished watching Zombi 3 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters 2. It was pretty bad, even by bad 80’s horror standards. Fulci left this film about halfway through after suffering a stroke, and the film was completed by Bruno Mattei and Claudio Fragasso. Aside from just being not very good, the movie feels like it was quickly slapped together, and never truly feels finished.
I’d still recommend watching it though. It’s pretty ridiculous. In fact, I just purchased the DVD from Amazon (for $3.10!!) so Scott, Rachel, and I can watch it while drinking whiskey and cracking jokes.

R.I.P. James Isaac (1960-2012). Isaac did special FX for films like Return of the Jedi, Gremlins, The Fly. He also served as director of Jason X and The Horror Show. Isaac passed away over the weekend, after a long battle with a rare form of blood cancer.
