This song TOTALLY sounds like 100 Broken Windows-era Idlewild. Probably because The Birthday Suit is Idlewild guitarist Rod Jones’ new band. Digging this record quite a lot.

This song fucking shreds. Fact: I like punk Idlewild more than I like alt-rock Idlewild. I wish they’d get their balls back and make another record like Hope is Important.

Idlewild “Rusty”
Another great indie band from Scotland, Idlewild’s first few albums are brilliant. “Rusty” comes from their 2001 release, 100 Broken Windows, which I consider to be their crowning achievement. Sadly though, their later records kinda veered off into generic R.E.M.-lite adult contemporary alt-rock (with the exception of 2007’s Make Another World).
