Fuck yes. So excited to finally see True Widow live.
Celebrating Rachel’s first night in L.A. with a bottle of bubbly. Because we’re fancy.
We’re gonna have us a champagne jam…
Check out the video for Out Of Print, a documentary on The New Beverly - Los Angeles’ premier revival theatre. This is a Kickstarter project, so check it out and donate if you can. If you’ve ever been to the New Bev you know how rad it really is.
The Twilight Sad “Dead City”
Brand new Twilight Sad video. The marquee at the beginning of this video is above The Echo in Silverlake. I’m pretty sure the shots of the band on stage were also filmed at The Echo. Rad.

Another alt-rock band lost in the great 90’s alt-rock boom. Interscope quickly signed, then dropped these Los Angelenos in 1996 or 1997 (after the release of their one and only record, Melinda (everything Was Beautiful And Nothing Hurt)), and I never heard anything else from them. Kind of sad that these guys languished in obscurity - they were pretty interesting. I still love this record, even though it’s starting to sound a little dated. Most of the songs here are pretty depressing, and it’s clear that these guys dealt with a lot of heartbreak and addiction. I was going to post a download link to the record, but I couldn’t even find one. I guess people still don’t care about these guys. Ha ha.
As long as you know I’m here I don’t care who you fuck…
Last night, Andrea, Trent (seen above), Scott, Amy, and I went to see The Twilight Sad last The Echo in Silverlake. It was my third time seeing them, but the first time as headliners. And while they gave an exceptional (and exceptionally loud) performance, the sound was atrocious. James’ vocals were way too low for most of the night, and the bass was way too high, plus it kept cutting in and out. It seemed like the sound guy finally got his shit together though, sadly it was during the last 3 songs.
Here’s the setlist from last night. If you live in L.A. and you missed this show, I hate you.
